Photokina has confirmed that three most important digital camera businesses will not attend the 2020 show. Nikon, Leica and Olympus will now not be a part of the show in May 2020, and it appears to be reliable – it's been confirmed in Photokina’s press release.
Photokina despatched out an email in German first, indicating that the 3 companies won’t be part of the imminent display. But we have later received an update in English, confirming the same facts. What’s extra, the respectable press release is also available on Photokina’s internet site.
The press launch suggests that Photokina has been adapting to the ever-changing market and its decline. It has reacted to those changes by way of transferring recognition to cell, motion and digital imaging. In addition, it'll be centered greater on more youthful site visitors, but also new exhibitors. Christoph Werner, Vice President of Koelnmesse, confirmed that Leica, Nikon, and Olympus are canceling the show:
“We look forward to robust demand and packages from each the brand new and the conventional segments of businesses like Canon, CEWE, GoPro, Sony, Panasonic, Kodak Alaris, Sigma, Tamron, Carl Zeiss, Hasselblad, Hahnemühle, Arri, Rode Mikrophones, DJI and Insta360. […] These are contrasted by cancellations, including from Leica, Nikon and Olympus.”
Back in April final yr, there had been rumors of certain brands pulling out of Photokina 2019, which includes Canon, Elinchrom, and Profoto. Christoph Menke, director of Photokina, denied the rumors approximately Canon and Profoto, but Elinchrom seems to stay out. And then, Photokina 2019 changed into canceled altogether. It seems like loads is converting in the show’s corporation and it’s indeed moving awareness to new exhibitors. But I surprise what made vintage exhibitors and huge organizations like Nikon, Olympus, and Leica pull out of the upcoming display.
